Privacy
The Website Robot is a trade name of Get-Amigo, LLC. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we collect what we need to build and run websites, we don't sell anything to anyone, and we don't run ads.
What we collect
- Public business information. Business names, mailing addresses, cities and license details from public state records. We use it to build free preview sites and mail postcards about them.
- What you send us. Your name, email, phone, business details, photos and messages, whether through our forms or by email.
- Payment details. These are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Email. Emails we send don't contain tracking pixels or tracked links, so we don't know whether you opened or clicked them.
- Visit counts. We count page visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that doesn't use tracking cookies or follow you around the web. We use it to see things like whether a preview was opened.
Your customers
When someone uses the contact form on a site we run for you, that message goes to you. We keep it only as long as needed to deliver it and run the service.
How we use it
- To build your preview and your site, write its wording, pick and register your web address, set up your mailbox and keep it all running.
- To email you about your request and your account, including up to two reminders if you start but don't finish (see "Emails" below).
- To bill you, through Stripe.
Much of this is done by automated tools, including AI, working from the details you give us. A person reviews and runs the service.
Emails
Tapping "Make it live" on a preview or sending us your details is a request for us to build your site, so we email you about it at the address you gave: service emails (your site is ready, a change is done, you're live, billing) and at most two reminders if you don't finish a step. Reply "stop" to any reminder and we won't send another. We never sell or share your email address, and we don't add you to newsletters.
Who helps us
These providers process data for us so the service works, and only get what they need to do their job:
- Netlify: hosting for our site and your site, our forms, and small server tasks
- Stripe: payments
- Namecheap: registering your domain and hosting your business mailbox
- Resend: delivering the emails we send you
- Google (Gmail): our inbox, where your messages and form submissions arrive
- GitHub: private, access-controlled storage for the files that make up your site and our customer records
- Anthropic (Claude): the AI that helps us process requests and write site wording
- PostGrid: printing and mailing postcards
- GoatCounter: visit counts
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent personal information, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't use your customers' information for anything except running your site.
Your choices
- Stop postcards / remove a preview: thewebsiterobot.com/optout, or email us.
- See, fix or delete what we have about you: email lee@thewebsiterobot.com and we'll take care of it. We may keep what the law requires us to keep, such as billing records.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable providers, secure (HTTPS) connections and limited access. Our customer records are encrypted wherever we view them online, and temporary mailbox passwords aren't stored. No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we'll tell you.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and email active customers.
